With the mad dash to get the latest gen consoles around the world and constant supply shortages, many people have been concerned with getting their hands on a PS5 at a reasonable price, but on September 9th, PlayStation gave gamers everywhere a few more reasons to be hyped about the latest gen.

The PlayStation Showcase is a massive event where many of the latest and greatest games are announced and discussed to get players and investors excited about what the console has to offer and what to look forward to, and for fans of comic heroes and pop culture, this showcase absolutely delivered.

With new entries from Marvel, Star Wars and the God of War franchise to name just a few, there is a lot to be excited about.

God of War: Ragnarok

Coming 2022, the hotly anticipated sequel to the 2018 God of War game will see the return of Kratos and his son Atreus as they encounter their largest threat so far… Ragnarok.

As shown in the ending of the last game, Thor will indeed arrive and the events of Ragnarok will begin to unfold.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 was an absolute smash hit earning many top 10 titles for 2018 in numerous publications including Wired, Time, Polygon and The Daily Telegraph. In fact, it even appeared in our very own top 10 for superhero games.

The sequel looks to be at least equally spectacular as well as introducing some exciting new characters that I absolutely hope will be playable. Miles Morales returns after his breakout game and fan favourite Venom emerges from the shadows at the close of the trailer!

Exciting as that may be, it is one of the ones we will be waiting a while for. Scheduled for release in 2023 we hope that that time is spent overloading this game with content to compensate for the exceptionally short game that was Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Marvel’s Wolverine

From the same team that developed Marvel’s Spider-Man, we will finally be getting another Wolverine game. As of yet, the release date is unknown which doesn’t look good for getting it in the next 2 years, but we can hope.

The trailer doesn’t reveal much at all as it is simply a teaser but, the swoosh of those claws! News about this game will be closely watched and discussed, so watch this space.

Gran Turismo 7

For all of you petrol heads out there, a new instalment from the GT series is on the way and expected to release March 4th 2022.

The graphics here look beautiful and the title should live up to the series with a brand new console to drive the game to its limits.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves

Not exactly a new game as the title might suggest but a remaster of two earlier games, Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

This should be on shelves by early 2022 and get fans of the Nathan Drake series excited to see the games given new life.

GTA 5 PS5 Edition

We all know the memes about GTA 5 released all the way back in 2013 and spanning multiple consoles. Well, here it is, it’s getting a makeover for PS5 that will hopefully keep fans happy until any news is made on a GTA 6.

Although, it is suffering from yet another delay in being released and has been pushed back to March 2022.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic

Knights of the Old Republic made a big impression on the gaming community and now for both fans and newcomers alike, it will be released on the PS5, enhanced and improved.

This is actually one of the titles I am most excited to try on the PS5 which makes it that much worse that the release date is still unannounced.

If you are looking for some games to keep you busy until these arrive, why not try out some of the top 10 we reviewed recently. Otherwise, keep an eye on the page for more of the latest news on all your favourite fandoms.
