Have Sony Confirmed Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire Appearing In Spider-Man: No Way Home?

Oct 25, 2021 | News, Uncategorized

Spider-Man: No Way Home is fast approaching and we are still yet to find out if Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will be joining Tom Holland for the multiversal adventure ahead…

But Sony might have made the announcement right under our noses.

Read on to find out everything that we know so far.

The Journey So Far

The latest instalment of Marvel’s most famous web-slinging hero is slated for release this festive season, the third with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker after the successes of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).

Sony and Holland as lead actor have been helping stoke the flames of fan rumours which have been building hype as we draw closer to the release of the flick.

Hopefully, more will be revealed in the next few days as Empire Magazine provide an inside peek at Spider-man: No Way Home. They’ve released cover art in anticipation of this that has added to the rumours.

The art has confirmed what we already know in terms of villains with the return of Doctor Octopus, Electro, and the Green Goblin, but it has also appeared to hint at the return of Sandman.

The art itself looks like it’s making reference to a multiverse with the swirling image of Spidey copied repeatedly. Theories have been circulating that the previous Peter Parker actors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, will be reprising their roles in some manner as multiple Spider-Men look set to cameo.

Officially Confirmed by Sony?

Fans were further excited by Sony Pictures UK’s official Twitter account replying to rumours with three spider emojis in place of the usual one seeming to confirm that three Peter Parkers will be present and that their involvement with the film is a poorly kept secret.

Whether the social media posting confirms the movie’s inclusion of the former web-slingers returning or not, it does add fuel to the rumour fire and keeps the hype train moving in anticipation of the December release.

With so many rumours flying around about the two’s inclusion in the movie it was only a matter of time before something more concrete like this came to light for fans, with many suggesting that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will appear in the next two trailers.

This is not through a lack of effort on behalf of Marvel Studios and President Kevin Feige in keeping their lips sealed. Even Tom Holland, with his notorious reputation for saying more than he should, has been fairly silent on the matter.

Jamie Foxx’s Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) and Alfred Molina’s

Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2 (2004) have already been confirmed for starring roles in the MCU Multiverse in the first official trailer, giving a reason for three Spider-Men to appear in No Way Home.

So, there you have it, is this confirmation by Sony? We would love to hear what you think, and for more of the latest news on your favourite fandoms, sign up to our newsletter to get it straight into your inbox!
