Are You Still Reading?

If you are still here, then we guess you want to know exactly what the mid-credit scene is about and what it means for the future of Venom and the Sony-verse of films.

At the conclusion of the film, after Venom and Eddie Brock have come out on top against Cletus Kasady/Carnage (not the big spoiler, since Venom is the protagonist after all, nothing surprising about his winning), the duo is on the run.

In a scene partway through the credits, we see Brock laying in a bed chatting to his symbiote counterpart where Venom offers to share some secret alien knowledge.

Things start to shimmer, and a bright light appears outside the window and engulfs everything. You may think this was whatever Venom was alluding to, but both Brock and Venom are clearly caught off guard by the occurrence.

Then, the entire room changes from a dingy motel to an upscale beachside hotel and it is obvious the pair have been transported somewhere.

On the TV, we see the familiar face of J. Jonah Jameson, played by none other than J.K. Simmons, discussing the massive reveal of Spider-Man’s identity. This is accompanied by a picture of Peter Parker played by Tom Holland!

What Does That Mean?

Well, from the events portrayed on the screen in the hotel room, this very much implies they arrive early in the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Obviously, Doctor Strange is meant to cast a spell to recall people’s memories that Peter Parker is Spider-Man and things go very, very wrong. If Brock/Venom turning up in the MCU is a result of Strange’s spell, then it certainly hasn’t wiped anyone’s memories with the news still being broadcast on public TV.

But this does add the potential possibility of seeing Venom appear as one of the Sinister Six, or, following his heroic deeds in Let There Be Carnage, he could even join forces with the web-slinger?

Of course, that is entirely speculative and it is possible that they will hide him away in the film until an after credit scene, but with the final trailer for No Way Home not yet released and this bombshell needing a little more time to soak in, we predict the final NWH trailer will not be released until November to give people everywhere a chance to see Venom and then it may show some of his involvement in the upcoming film.

What do you think will happen in the upcoming films? Do you think the Sony-verse will all start to merge with the MCU or remain apart as a separate timeline? Let us know.
