Following a cosmic battle of epic proportions, the team is getting a break as Marvel concludes the popular series before the third film begins filming.

The End of The Line

Marvel Comics current run of the Guardians of the Galaxy series has been going on since 2019. The final instalment with Al Ewing as writer, art by Juan Frigeri and colours by Frederico Blee, sees the Guardians face off against Dormammu with the help of an unlikely ally in Doctor Doom.

The current series has been widely praised and has featured many beloved characters from throughout Marvel’s history and more current organisations such as S.W.O.R.D. and the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda.

Issue #18 ends with the Guardians explosive victory, a quick exit by Doom and some relaxation for the team as they kick back in Gosnell’s Bar.

With the series concluded and no upcoming storyline slated, we don’t expect to see anything new from them until at least January 2022, but with so many other exciting projects for the team from Volume 3, a holiday special and another upcoming game, we can’t imagine they will be away from print for very long.

What upcoming Guardians project are you most excited about?
